Iben Herrik, a specialist in traditional open-faced sandwiches (smørrebrød), has curated your Christmas Lunch from her small restaurant on Store Kongensgade – located right across from Nyboder in the heart of Copenhagen.
Everything is made from scratch using the family’s classic recipes and the finest seasonal Danish ingredients.

The Christmas Menu is prepared on the day, beautifully arranged, and carefully packed—ready to serve at home, at the office, or perhaps to take along to the countryside if you’re spending the holidays outside the city.

On which days do you offer Christmas Lunch?
Ibens Smørrebrød is offering its Christmas Menu from Thursday, November 19, through Saturday, December 23, 2026.
Choose from six daily time slots for pickup or delivery:
- 11:00–12:00
- 12:00–13:00
- 13:00–14:00
- 14:00–15:00
- 15:00–16:00
- 16:00–17:00
How many of us will there be?
It is possible to order this year’s Christmas Lunch from Ibens Smørrebrød for as few as a single person.
When is the order deadline?
To allow our kitchen staff time to prepare, please place your order for this year’s Christmas Lunch at least two weekdays in advance.
If you are running late, you are welcome to contact us – we will do our best to help.
Can I have it delivered?
Yes – we offer your Christmas lunch either for pickup at our restaurant at St. Kongensgade 116A, Copenhagen K, or for delivery throughout Copenhagen for 200 kr. (to cover our lovely delivery person). See our full delivery area map here.
How do you pack it?
We pack your entire Christmas menu in eco-friendly, single-use boxes, so you don’t have to worry about returning anything, and serving is made easy. For example, if you have ordered for 4 people, each open-faced sandwich will be placed in its own individual box. The only additional charge is the statutory packaging levy for the carrier bag.
Can I place an order for more than 30 people?
We are Denmark’s smallest smørrebrød restaurant, so our kitchen capacity is quite limited. However, please call +45 31 70 99 63 or email mail@ibenssmoerrebroed.dk, and we will do our best to find a solution.
How long will the food keep?
We prepare your Christmas menu for the day you request; the entire meal will keep perfectly fresh when refrigerated, but we recommend serving it within 24 hours – ideally on the same day.
Is it possible to change or cancel?
Unfortunately, cancellation is not possible. If you wish to change the number of servings or the time, or if you have any questions, please call us at +45 31 70 99 63 or email us at mail@ibenssmoerrebroed.dk.
Allergies or special requirements?
We strive to accommodate our guests’ needs. For your safety and comfort, we have indicated the presence of gluten, lactose, and shellfish, as well as vegetarian options, for each smørrebrød (open-faced sandwich) on the menu. If you have any special requests regarding specific portions of your Christmas menu, please note them in the form under ‘Special requests’ and the kitchen will subsequently confirm.
How do I pay?
Along with your order confirmation, you will receive a payment link via email – here, you can easily and securely make a payment using a payment card. Please note that your order is only valid once the payment has been completed.
Can I enjoy Christmas Lunch in the restaurant?
