News: Ibens Smørrebrød is now also open in the evening

Denmark’s smallest smørrebrød restaurant is extending its opening hours until 8 PM. Enjoy classic Danish open-faced sandwiches for dinner in Copenhagen – book a table or takeaway.

Smørrebrødsjomfru Iben Herrik (60), who opened the doors to her own small Danish restaurant in the heart of Copenhagen in 2020, is now extending the opening hours until 8 p.m. This is due to increasing demand.

Easter is one of the Danes’ most traditional holidays, where open faced sandwiches, good Danish beers and Easter lunches bring family and friends together.

We are currently very busy at Ibens Smørrebrød in the middle of Copenhagen. That’s why we are now extending our opening hours for the first time, so you can also enjoy Ibens’ well-known smørrebrød for dinner.

From Saturday we will be open until 8 p.m.

As the afternoon draws to a close and the light falls softly over the village of Nyboder, our lovely hostesses set the table for a cozy and atmospheric evening in our small restaurant on Store Kongensgade. The menu is exactly as you know it – classic Danish open sandwiches, prepared with respect for raw materials, craftsmanship and tradition.

The extended opening hours are a special Easter initiative where we want to give even more people the opportunity to experience Ibens Smørrebrød – also outside of lunchtime.

Evening opening is valid from Saturday, March 28, until Monday, April 6, 2026.

You can:

  • Book a table for both lunch and dinner
  • Take the food home and enjoy it at your own Easter table

We look forward to welcoming you – also when the evening falls.
